Coaching Appointments - Season 2017

After a month of interviews, appointments, shuffling back and forth and a lot of discussion amongst this year’s coaching panel in Mr Dean Hayes, Mr Mark Giuliano and myself, we have now come to completion of all bar 2 teams which are almost finalised and simply require a couple of small items fulfilled before confirming the roles for that of the Colts 2 team along with the first girls footy team coach as we have branched far and wide to make this historical year fast approaching a very memorable one.

I need to firstly acknowledge the quality and sheer volume of applicants which tells me one thing and one thing only, and that is that this club is very privileged to have so many wonderful individuals wanting to put their hands up to assist whether they have children playing or in many cases none at all and just prefer to get involved with the club that stands by its values both on and most certainly off the field, as it is the coach that represents and teaches our children the best way to conduct themselves in many aspects of life.

Firstly, the role of coaching co-ordinator has been reinstated and filled. What a bunch of quality submissions we were fortunate enough to spend time interviewing. This pivotal role of development, understanding and communication has been a very crucial role to the club for many years now and it is my great honour to announce Mr Dom Vaiano as the clubs Director of Coaching for Season 2017. Dom comes with a wealth of knowledge, passion and a vision to take this role to the next level where he will work closely with the club, league and most importantly the coaches to ensure that they are supported in a very strong manner with all requirements.

Which takes me to a newly created role being the Director of Coaching Development which the panel have appointed Mr Harmit Singh to head up. With credentials that will make this report go on for the next 5 pages, Harmit is committed to the club and with timing restrictions placed on him in the new year, Harmit himself wanted to stay within the club yet work across all levels, all teams and with all coaches providing material feedback and support which all teams will benefit from in a major way. Great to have Harmit at the Mighty Preston Bullants for a 3rd term.

So, with season 2017 upon us, I am pleased to announce our coaching panel as follows:

Director of Coaching Development Mr Harmit Singh
Director of Coaching Mr Dom Vaiano
Girls Team TBA
Colts 1 Mr Marty Fitzpatrick
Colts 2 TBA
U15’s Mr Ang Talarico

U13’s Mr Matthew Meehan
U12’s Mr Phil Smith

I would also like to thank all our coaches and their assistants for what has truly been a stand-out 2016 season on many fronts. Your selfless efforts all year long to a voluntary role is nothing short of amazing and greatly appreciated and on behalf of all the families and players I would like to extend a massive thank you to you all.
